Cheviot

A couple of nights away with the tent. Mike and Lucky wanted to dodge the worst of the fireworks over the weekend. It was largely a couple of days of pottering around, reading, drinking tea and snoozing.

  4. Thank you Andy. The Duomid is certainly in line as favourite. The downside is it has a large footprint. The trekker tents are certainly up there as far as good tents go.

  5. Looks a fine spot to camp. Talking of which, what’s with the Duomid. I still love your old one. Why have you gone back and what was your previous green one.

  6. It comes down to weight Alan. The Duomid came up for sale, as new, and I grabbed it quick. It came with a mesh inner. The other tent is a Nigor version of the SL3. It is heavier and takes a bit longer to put up. Mind, I still have a Golite SL2. Put it up for sale but no interest. Now with an Oook custom made fabric half inner, the Duomid makes for a good winter tent.

  7. I can't blame you getting it Dawn, they are good. I bought a bathtub groundsheet, a double one from Trekkertent. It's great. What was the tent you took to the Cairngorms last Jan. Was that a Trekker too.

  8. Yes Alan, the tent I took to the Cairngorms was a trekker tent. That one was sold on. A good tent but rather heavy and a bit of a faff to put up.
